Grief is the emotional response to any type of loss. An individual may experience grief related to the loss of a loved one due to death or divorce, but may also experience grief related to loss of a job, pet, financial stability, or safety after trauma.
Common symptoms of grief include shock and disbelief; sadness, crying or feelings of emptiness, despair, yearning, or loneliness; guilt, anger, and fear; and physical symptoms such as fatigue, nausea, weight loss or gain, aches and pains, and insomnia.
Feelings of grief can be overwhelming, and managing and overcoming these emotions can be difficult. Comfort and hope are available. Grief is a healthy part of healing. And be assured you are not alone. Our therapists understand and desire to walk alongside you during this difficult season. If you are having trouble coping on your own, or know of someone who could use extra support, our therapists can help you work through your intense emotions in a safe environment where you can be reminded of God's great love for you.
